1844

- Franz Rieger bought a house in Krnov and established an organ building workshop there.

1872
|
- He assigned his well established and prosperous firm to his two sons Otto Antonin and Gustav.
|
1873
|
- Organs started to be numbered and the organ OPUS1 was sent to the World Exhibition to Vienna where it aroused great attention.
|
1878
|
- The World Exhibition in Paris brought - apart from international appreciation - orders from abroad and enabled the company to expand
|
1924
|
- Josef Glatter-Götz became the new owner of the company. He was wery succesful in making quick and effective recovery from the World War I recession
|
1945
|
- the Rieger Brothers´ firm gets under state control.
|
1948
| - The factory was nationalized. Another organbuilding company in Krnov, Josef Kloss, was nationalized in the same year and both the firms were fused under the name ´Organbuilding Factory Rieger-Kloss in Krnov´.
|
1958
|
- Great success on the World Exhibition EXPO ´58 was followed by installation of 46 organs in former Soviet Union countries.
|
1994
|
- The company was restored to private ownership.
|
1997
|
- Devastating floods at the beginning of July halted the production for four weeks and caused serious property damage.
|
now
|
- Flourishing company has about 60 employees and builds organs mainly in USA and Asia.
